linog aka earthquake‏

A magnitude-7.2 earthquake struck in the central Philippines on Tuesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. At least four people were killed as part of a fish port collapsed.
The earthquake hit at 8:12 a.m. (5:12 p.m. Monday ET) less than a mile from the town of Carmen in Bohol province in a remote region across the Cebu Strait about 40 miles from Cebu City.
At least two aftershocks rated at magnitude 5.0 or greater followed.

Missionary Madi was able to e-mail us later that day to make sure we knew she was safe.
I am sooooo pasaway. what up nuccahs??? emailing on a Tuesday. you lucky ducks get 2 emails this week. too bad you are all asleep :// So you guys probably don't even care/know this but there was a earth quake here and I am fine. they just told us to go email so holla!! except If eel disobedient and naughty :/ but I'm not. It was actually a pretty scary earthquake hahah like we were sitting in our room doing personal study and the floor starting like shaking or swaying haha and then we were like what the crap? Then we all smarten up and figured out what it was so we went down stairs and stood there hahah we didn't know what to do we just stood there freaking out and swaying and then it was over. It made me motion sick too...ya I'm pathetic. then we  went to district meeting like normal and then to lunch then the zone leaders texted and said we could email our famz and tell us we were ok. hahahha what the crap right?? Ya we freaked like screamed and jumped up and down in the grocery store. So here we are but that is all I have to say...so no worries people I am safe and sound and we have a fun day ahead of us!! We are going home after this and then to the mail and then to the movies. joke! we are teaching some peeps. LDS CONFERENCE

GO WORK WITH THE MISSIONARIES PEOPLE AND OPEN YOUR MOUTHS!!

Missionary Madi loved this week because they got to listen to LDS Conference. She loved all of the talks and sent home a list of all of the talks she specifically wanted each member of her family to read. She is using her mad missionary skills on us to help us to be better. Missionary Madi is very happy and loves serving her Heavenly Father.

Highlights:

Transfers - Missionary Madi and Sister Adasme are still companions and were not moved.

Language - Missionary Madi fluently speaks Cebuano & Tagalog. Praying she does not need to learn a third Waray Waray.

Camera - Missionary Madi lost her camera again (blessing her pictures are much better with the new one). This is her 4th camera in 8 1/2 months.

Ormoc - Lot's of work to do in their area and the sisters are working hard to share the love of Christ.

No Big Deal - It is BEAUTIFUL here.......

Lead me, Guide me, Walk beside me

Missionary Madi and Sister Adasme and several ward members went to the local elementary school to hand out food and juice. They have been celebrating Family Week in the Philippines so every day they did a family activity. Missionary Madi said that everyone who went with her were shy and apparently forgot how to speak Cebuano so she had to do all the talking (which would have happened shyness or not). She said it totally reminded her of working at Little Flippers back at home and her service trips with them to Mexico.

"I love service and I know that we serve people everyday but it is fun to do it in other ways too, that you can actually see the success from."  - Missionary Madi
Happy, Happy, Happy

MISSIONARY MADI CANNOT COUNT TO TEN

Missionary Madi had a great week which included most importantly her follow up with the dentist. She ended up having a root canal and then will need to go in next week to get a crown. Apparently her dentist is a little strange. He speaks perfect English and then the creeper part is that he is always taking pictures of her and added her to his facebook (she is hoping we have changed her account to private). I want to believe it is just the novelty of having an American patient. Not the fact that she is tall, blond, blue eyed and beautiful.
Root Canal & Crown = 10500 Pisos ($250.00 American)

Missionary Madi included in her family letter this week the Top Ten Things she has learned while in the Philippines. However the list stops short and she only really comes up with Five. So enjoy!

So the ten things I've learned in Phili are as follows:
1. Nothing is inappropriate or off limits. the more bastos (vulgar) the better. for example this last week we had a talent show at the church and they danced like strippers...no joke...its like t clay up in here..and they love songs with swear words. I think they just like making us mishes feel uncomfortable.
2. Brown eyes exist. aka my comp. she lovesss the Philis. I'm gonna die when she marries one...don't worry bragaayyy I do not have brown eyes.
3. If it looks like chicken and smells like chicken and they say its chicken. its not chicken.
4. Heavenly Father knows us and loves us and is here for us. We have these one investigators that drive me crazy and are so hard to teach but I still love them. It's complicated. and they really are brilliant and ask bomb questions that are freaking hard so the last couple times we have gone there I am praying like cray cray that I will be able to help them and answer their pangutana and its amazing how much easier its gotten. I understand there tagolog and I can answer questions that are so hard. Heavenly Father really cares about every single one of us and wants to help us. just PRAY!! And read the Book Of Mormon erridayyy.
5. RM are freaks. pray for me.
That's all I got. The 5 things I've learned in Phili na lang...haha
